Drawing School Dinajpur has completed 10 years of its establishment. During this long time we have gone through many experiences. An organization that has been built up gradually has made a place of love in everyone’s mind today. Drawing School has never compromised on quality. It has never failed to take necessary measures to provide maximum access to students. Appointed additional teachers as needed for intensive supervision. Always striving to ensure a clean, tidy and safe environment. In addition to regular classes, the underprivileged children and youth of the area have been given employment opportunities by providing free training. “Drawing School Dinajpur” has continued various social service activities since its inception. which is still ongoing. Due to covid-19, the past two years have been lost from our lives, the drawing school has tried to stand up again to cope with this transitional period. Drawing school is consciously working for social and mental development of children and parents after covid-19. “Drawing School” is trying to maintain the best standard with completely new look and new ideas. Behind this, all the sincere teachers, management and executive committee, students and parents of the drawing school deserve thanks. Everyone wants the best, we try to give it.
Drawing School has provided education to more than 100 children from underprivileged families since 2012. Their teaching materials are provided by the Drawing School. Among them satisfactorily trained students are now working as assistant teachers in drawing schools. The drawing school has given employment opportunities to the girls and young women from underprivileged families in the area through long-term training. After training from drawing school, many are now working as drawing teachers in various schools. Among them, 16 young women are currently working in the drawing school. Those who perform duties according to their convenience in different shifts of drawing school classes besides their studies and family responsibilities. For this, they receive an honorarium at the prescribed rate for fulfilling their duties. Art training of 24 such underprivileged youths started from May/2022, which is ongoing. “Drawing School Dinajpur” is also providing all the materials to these trainees free of charge. This program is an ongoing process of the Drawing School. Since 2012 till date at least 50 girls/young women have been trained through this program. 6 assistant teachers of this institution got married in the last 2 years during Corona. This void is filled through trained students. A drawing school is run and the expenses of poor trainees are borne from the money paid by parents who are financially able to admit and pay.
The reality is that an underprivileged child enjoys more benefits than a regular student, as apart from getting salary allowance free, they also get free drawing materials. Despite many limitations, the drawing school continues to provide this opportunity to the children of the area. Many students of this school have participated in district/national/international competitions and been awarded. Drawing School Dinajpur is not only a drawing school but also a successful training center. This organization has succeeded in creating an open platform for all ages and classes. Our students come to learn together mother/daughter, father/daughter, mother/son. There are many such students. Those who inspire us, and make the slogan open to all ages meaningful.
We have ensured a safe environment for all students. We are always conscious to ensure maximum safety especially for girl children. This is why drawing school has become acceptable to all parents. A good education system recognized all over the world has a student teacher ratio of 20:1 i.e. 1 teacher for 20 students. The drawing school employs 1 teacher for every 5 students in an effort to provide close supervision and hands-on teaching. Every child is special, in the case of children with special needs, 1 teacher is specially assigned for 1 child.
It is a first choice school for pre-primary or 4+ children and parents who are also their first school of life. We have special care and arrangements for them. We have ensured a child friendly and joyful environment for all students. So every student looks forward to coming to our school.
Drawing School Dinajpur has been conducting various social service activities since its inception in 2012. These include food items for flood victims, cash payment for flood damage infrastructure construction, winter clothing, education materials, cash and food items gifts during festivals. Cash assistance in medical treatment and payment of fee/form fillup/dues of educational institutes to poor students. In the future there are plans to form a fund on behalf of this organization. Through which the education of poor girl children will be supported. Apart from this, two vans have been purchased for Rs 1,05,000/- to two widows and a land mortgage has been given to a destitute woman for Rs 50,000/- to meet the expenses of her family by conducting income generating activities.
We have distrobuted 12 numbers of sewimg machine to the underprivileged traind young girls for their support for income generating activities last year.
In the past two years during the Corona period, various awareness activities such as distribution of masks, distribution of food items have been done among unemployed people. Although our capacity is limited, we hope that this effort of drawing school will continue as part of social responsibility as well as management of the institution.
Drawing School is not only a school of art but also plays a role in the mental development of a child in positive changes in his behaviour, manners of speaking, language skills, politeness, tolerance, humanity, honesty, responsibility, determination, compassion and respect, which are taught to a child. We think it is very important to build the moral foundation. Therefore, the drawing school tries to develop these positive and humane qualities in each of its students through education.
The power of love is immense. Every staff member of Drawing School Dinajpur tries to serve each and every student with compassion, affection, care, love and sincerity. So everyone loves us, and with this strength we are moving forward.
Despite being located in a remote district, many prominent artists and art patrons of the country have visited this institution and given their valuable advice. Various articles have been published in national magazines about the educational system and environment of this institution. Above all, our greatest achievement is the support and love of the people associated with this institution. They take pride in this institution and consider it their asset and try to protect it all round. This acceptance and cooperation of people is the biggest achievement.
Our students recently went to the local Rajbati old age home to greet the isolated elderly and spend some happy time with them. Our aim was to spread the message of doing something for others, extending a hand of service to the new generation even in the face of limited ability.
